Mystery once again surrounds the identity of the true buyer of the Gdansk and Szczecin shipyards.QInvest, the Qatari company financing the purchase of both shipyards, issued a statement Sunday explaining that it was acting on behalf of an undisclosed buyer.
New inheritance laws will make it harder for the Polish state to take money from those who die without a will. The new law places grandparents and stepchildren automatically in line for inheritance. The previous law allowed local authorities to assume possession of an estate even if there were surviving relatives. The new law continues to place spouses, children, and siblings – in that order – at the head of the line.
