There’s a mixed bag of news in the Warsaw region this week. We start with yet another demonstration by stallholders from the Stallholders Trading House (KDT) on the Plac Defilad. About 1000 of the traders held a funeral march, complete with a symbolic coffin bearing the slogan ‘a good trader is a dead trader’.

They also took a figure of Warsaw President Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, with a label round its neck saying ‘Hanna – Liar’ and a banner with the message ‘this isn’t the future we voted for’. They made their way to the Sejm, where they were met by some Law and Justice (PiS) MPs who promised to support them. They then moved on the Prime Minister’s Chancellery where a deleg ...
