Wisla Krakow’s hopes of advancing to the lucrative stages of the Champions League were dealt a severe blow this week, with only an injury time equalizer sparing the blushes of the Polish champions.

Wisla, appearing in the third round of the qualifying stages, had been expected to trounce Levadia Tallinn, but it was the defensive minded Estonians who took a shock lead on 41 minutes.

Wisla had hoped to make the most of their home advantage, but the partisan Krakow crowd were silenced by heavy storms that at one stage threatened the games abandonment.

"I'm convinced we are the better team and we have a week to improve our game," said Wisla coach Maciej Skorza after the match. ...
