Speedway fans are celebrating the national teams victory in the World Championships following a thrilling finale which pitted the Poles against the Ozzies.

Taking place in front a fervent home crowd in Leszno the finals, contested by eight teams, got underway a day late following heavy storms the day before. For home supporters it proved a wait worthwhile, and in spite of trailing for most of the rounds Poland claimed a dramatic last gasp triumph with Polish captain Tomasz Gollob stealing victory from under the noses of the Australians. This latest success means it’s now three world titles in five years for the Poles. ...
