Sunreef yachts is to build a new shipyard in Gdynia at a cost of EUR 6 mln to construct luxury catamarans and trimarans. Sales of the large vessels, whose prices begin at EUR 1 mln, have been affected far less than those of smaller units by the global crisis, so the shipmaker is preparing to move from its hitherto rented facilities at the Gdansk shipyard.They will be offering work for up to 200 shipyard workers from among those about to be made redundant elsewhere. Those workers are divided as to the merits of the offer, some appreciating the aesthetic of the boats, others complaining that they are too small to work on comfortably.
