The good times are over: Job losses increase across the board

In spite of relatively good economic results this year, Poland is one of the EU's leaders in terms of the sheer number job losses for 2009 with some 39,000 layoffs announced in Q1 2009 and another 11,200 announced by Polish companies in Q2 2009.
On the positive side, more than 7,800 new jobs should be created in Q2 2009, the report added.
But recently announced planned government layoffs and plant closures show that jobs are being lost in both the private and public sectors.
