Speculation of divisions within the ruling coalition of Civic Platform (PO) and the Polish Peasants’ Party (PSL) began in earnest this week following accusations from the Deputy Prime Minister that PM Tusk was ignoring the interests of the country in favour of promoting those of his party.
Speaking to the Polish edition of Newsweek, Waldemar Pawlak from PSL said, “Civic Platform is only concerned about its own political interests.”
He added that the PM’s plans for the adoption of the single European currency were wrong, citing the country’s economic situation in example.
