Gay man wins landmark court case

A homosexual man has won a landmark slander case and been awarded PLN 15,000 in damages after a court ruled that calling him a 'pedal' (Polish for poof) was “offensive and demeaning."
25-year-old Ryszard Giersz from Wolin had taken his 44-year-old neighbour, Anna S., to court after receiving what he called a sustained torrent of abuse from her “day after day.”
According to the prosecution, last year whilst in a grocery, the neighbour had pointed at Giersz and in front of other customers said “Look, a faggot’s buying himself another faggot.”
She is then said to have continued her verbal abuse over a sustained period.
This said judge Urszula Chmielewska, was unacceptable ...
