Poland will receive EUR 925 mln in credit from the European Investment Bank to support academic research and struggling small and medium businesses.EUR 675 mln in loans will go to research and projects to build a knowledge-based society. The remaining EUR 250 mln will support environmental protection, infrastructure development, and tourism.
The average rate of unemployment rate in the euro zone reached 9.4 percent in June, the highest level in a decade. The Netherlands had the lowest rate at 3.3 percent, while Spain suffered the highest at 18.1 percent. Eurostat figures put the unemployment rate in Poland at 8.2 percent, while GUS calculates the rate to be 10.7 percent.
