In scenes reminiscent of the recent fighting at the KDT bazaar (see NPE 29/32) this Wednesday the city guard and police cleared another group of illegal traders, this time from the Sadyba area of the capital. The illegal traders, who have set up across the street from a legal bazaar, were unconcerned, until they heard that their goods were to be seized and stalls removed and so began tipping their fruit onto the pavement, so the City Guard moved in to prevent them amid violent scenes and cries from onlookers of, “Bandits! They’ve hit nobody, why are you attacking them!” Soon after the traders had been removed, with only bruised fruit on the sidewalk to indicate they had been there.
