Police are bracing themselves for violent clashes this Saturday as Northern Ireland arrive in Chorzow to take on Poland in a crunch World Cup Qualifier.

The first match in March was marred by crowd disturbances in and around the stadium, with scores of Poles nicked as police struggled to restore order. Thugs from across Poland are rumoured to be mobbing up to exact revenge, with one fan warning the Belfast Telegraph, ‘Your fans had better stay away from my town. They will get stabbed when they come to Chorzow. Maybe they will get killed’. Poland lie three points off the Irish, with both sides knowing a win is vital to their World Cup hopes. ...
