Gardener blows his head off

A gardener obsessed with moles ruining his lawn blew his own head off with a cache of home-made bombs.

The 50-year-old man packed the mole holes with fireworks and explosives before setting off the lot, say police in Zbaszynek.

“He clearly hadn’t given much thought to how he was going to escape the blast and died instantly with severe head injuries,” said police spokesman Slawomir Konieczny. ...
