The EC has decided the Polish government can provide financial support to Dell's computer manufacturing operations in Lodz.Public assistance worth some EUR 54 mln will be used to build a second plant and expand production capacity in the city. Dell has announced it will move most of its production in Europe from Ireland to Poland in order to cut costs.
The latest GUS figures confirm that unemployment in Poland is holding steady at 10.8 percent. Meanwhile, the number of job offers and active job seekers both dropped slightly. The unemployment number has not changed in three months, as sign that the economy has stabilized.
