Pawlak scoops Lotto prize

Deputy Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak was amongst the lucky winners of the Big Lotto last Tuesday.

While not exactly winning enough to retire, Pawlak was reported to have shouted “I got a winning ticket!” after scooping up PLN 16 from a ticket given to him for free by a journalist.

His winnings, as he had earlier promised, will be donated to his local fire department.

Eight lucky people won this week’s record-breaking PLN 40 mln Big Lotto jackpot – each earning around PLN 4.7 mln. ...
