Mixed message over salaries

Poles are earning both more and less in 2009 than in previous years, according to recent statistics. Surprisingly, the global economic crisis appears to be behind both trends.
The average Polish employee earns an average of PLN 3,362 monthly in the private sector, according to figures released by GUS.
These same statistics show that in companies employing at least 50 people a growing number of workers are receiving pay checks closer to the minimum legal monthly wage of PLN 1,276.
