Polish farmers are expected to receive PLN 12.7 bln in subsidies from the EU this year, 30 percent more than last year.The increase is mainly due to a drop in the value of the zloty, which has fallen by a quarter against the Euro since last year. Basic subsidies have risen this year to PLN 507 per hectare and to PLN 866 per grain-producing hectare.
Polmos has decided to end production of Goldwasser vodka, famous for the flakes of gold it contains. The herbal vodka has been made in Gdansk since the 16th century, and is a symbol of the city. A German version will replace it on shop shelves.
