Who next for the chop? Tusk mulls over corruption purge
A corruption scandal that had already claimed the head of Poland’s sports minister escalated dramatically this week with more ministerial heads rolling, and the governing coalition coming under threat.Donald Tusk, the prime minister, accepted the resignation of three more ministers as he struggled to deal with the fallout from a lobbying scandal that left his government bruised, battered and tarnished.
Grzegorz Schetyna, the interior minister, Andrzej Czuma, the justice minister, and the deputy finance minister Adam Szejnfeld all quit on Wednesday, following in the wake of sports minister Miroslaw Drzewiecki, who left his post at the beginning of the week.
