Kaczynski dithers over signing Lisbon Treaty

A game of will he or won’t he broke out in Warsaw this week over whether President Lech Kaczynski would finally ratify the Lisbon treaty by putting his name at the bottom of the page.After Ireland voted “yes” in their second referendum on the treaty, many in Poland expected the president to stay true to his word and sign the document.
Before the Irish vote President Kaczynski had refrained from signing it into law, arguing that ratification made no sense as the treaty was dead in the water until it received the blessing of the Irish electorate.
