Girl holds herself to ransom

A teenage girl who ‘kidnapped’ herself and then sent text messages to her boyfriend demanding cash for her return, has been arrested.

The 18-year old was rumbled when her 30-year old boyfriend grew suspicious after he received messages stating that she would be killed if he didn’t come up with PLN 40,000.

Police traced the messages to a house in north-west Poland where they found the girl safe and well.

She now faces up to 8 years in prison for attempted fraud. ...
