The search has begun for a primary contractor to build a natural gas terminal in Swinoujscie.

The project will be one of the most significant infrastructure investments in Poland in recent years and the largest maritime investment on the Polish coast since the 1970s. Once built, the terminal would allow Poland to import natural gas by sea and thereby reduce its dependence on Russia as a supplier. The facility's planned capacity of 5 bln m3 could meet more than half of Poland's current demand for gas.

Poles feel satisfied materially and economically according to a recent report by CBOS. Only 28 percent of those surveyed felt they did not earn enough money, down from 75 percent in 2003. Savi ...
