Tusk’s new team have challenges ahead
Prime minister Donald Tusk appointed three new ministers this week as part of a campaign to rebuild trust in the government after it was tarnished by a scandal linked to gambling and abuse of office.Krzysztof Kwiatkowski came in as the new justice minister, Adam Giersz for sports and Jerzy Miller was named as the new head of the interior ministry.
Speaking about their appointment to high office Mr Tusk said he congratulated “the ministers, who take their new posts in a very difficult situation”.
Few would quibble with the prime minister’s words.
His Civic Platform government has had to contend with perhaps its worst crisis since coming into office over two years ago.
