University standards drop as cheating rises

Standards at many of Poland’s universities are plummeting as cheating becomes more commonplace amongst students.
In a recent survey conducted by the PSB DGA pollsters, 54 percent of students stated that cheating was the norm on their course and 39 percent believed that lecturers would turn a blind eye to cheating during an exam.
Eleven percent also said that they would have no moral issues about buying a Master’s thesis for over PLN 500.
Another reason for the declining standards is lecturers frequently skipping classes, as many try to juggle more than one job in order to compensate poor wages.
