Smuda’s First Move

New Poland manager Franciszek Smuda has announced his first squad for upcoming friendlies against Romania and Canada, sensationally dropping Mariusz Lewandowski, the captain in Poland’s last international outing.
Talismanic forward Ebi Smolarek has also been axed, a bold move which confirms Smuda’s determination to breathe new life into a demoralized squad. Injury sees Lukasz Fabianski and Artur Boruc left out, and Man U backup Tomasz Kuszczak looks set to start between the posts. Maciej Sadlok and Janusz Gancarczyk will be looking to make their international debuts, while veteran playmaker Kamil Kosowski will be happy with his recall. ...
