Poland signs gas contract with Russia

Poland's main gas supplier PGNiG reached agreement last Friday with the Russian Gazprom on future gas deliveries. The deal provides for Poland to receive more than enough gas to meet its future needs but puts into question plans to build a gas port in Swinoujscie for LNG imports.
"Both sides came to agreement on the issue of increasing supplies and on extending the current contract to 2037. In addition, a compromise solution was worked out concerning the management of the Europol Gaz company and its fee policies," a communiqué from PGNiG read.
