PLN 500 mln of cocaine destroyed

Over one tonne of cocaine - worth a record PLN 500 mln - has been burned by the Internal Security Agency (ABW).


The drug, confiscated in February and stored in a special treasury, was destroyed in a massive bonfire in a secret location after the Polish higher court made the unprecedented decision.

“For the sake of the court case, we have saved a few kilograms. But, we convinced the courts that storing all of it is a waste of money,” says the Warsaw Prosecutor General.
