Former FA Chief Charged

Former PZPN (Polish FA) chief Michal Listkiewicz is the latest official to be nicked as Polish football continues to wage war on corruption.
Listkiewicz, who served as head honcho right up until October of last year, is accused of making an illegal transfer of seven million zloty from the FA to marketing firm JAG Sport back in 2000. The money had originally been earmarked for cash-strapped Widzew Lodz. If convicted Listkiewicz, released on 80,000zl bail, faces up to eight years in prison. Listkiewicz’s nine year reign as head of the PZPN ended in 2008 after his perceived lack of action battling corruption. ...
