Environment minister resigns

Poland’s Environment Minister Maciej Nowicki resigned earlier this week due to apparent disagreements with his deputy, and branded the job a “difficult and thankless task.”But the news comes as no real surprise as the resignation had been planned for some time with the information being leaked just before this week’s Climate Conference in Copenhagen.
Polish Peasants’ Party (PSL) MP Janusz Piechocinski has criticised the way the situation was handled.
“Releasing such news just when the minister was opening the summit is simply dramatic. It shows that many politicians and media representatives lack any imagination.
