...reports of crashes, large scale pile ups and fatal accidents have come flooding in from around the country
Snow and freezing temperatures have descended on Poland this week leading to predictable scenes of traffic chaos and creating serious difficulties for many. The north-west of the country has been the least affected, with low, but not unusual, temperatures of -5 degrees or so and a light dusting of snow.Across a broad band of the country from Gdansk down through the capital and on to Krakow temperatures have been much lower, down to around -15, and anything from 5-10cm of snow has fallen. Worst hit is the south-east of the country, around Rzeszow, where temperatures have fallen below -15 degrees with windchill making it feel more like -25, and significant snowfall of 15cm or more.
