The Polish league wrapped up for its annual winter break with Wisla Krakow sitting on top of the pile, five points clear of second place Legia Warszawa.

A 33rd minute strike from Marcelo was enough to seal victory for Wisla over Zaglebie Lubin, a result that leaves the visitors stranded in the relegation zone. Legia keep up the heat following a 1-0 win over Arka Gdynia, while Lech Poznan extended their unbeaten run to nine games following a 2-0 win over Korona Kielce. A late brace from Tomasz Mikolajczyk was enough to secure the points for third placed Lech. Cracovia saw their four game winning streak halted at Lechia Gdansk, while bottom place Odra claimed a point after a 1-1 draw with Polonia Bytom. Polonia Warszawa, last seasons surprise package, continued their dismal run with a 1-0 defeat at Slask Wroclaw, a result which leaves them hovering one point above the drop zone.
