The last two weeks has seen a large drop in the number of swine flu cases reported in the Tricity area, but experts are warning there could still be another wave of infections to come. “The number of new cases is falling week on week. We’re still falling ill with normal flu and similar diseases, but it’s clear to see that the first winter attack is behind us. Many of us have built up a resistance to this year’s virus,” Jerzy Karpinski, Regional Head of Medicine for Pomorze, told reporters from Gazeta Trojmiasto. Epidemiologists expect another surge in diagnoses of the A/H1N1 virus to hit late February or early March and are urging people to remain vigilant.
