The Director of Lodz Public Transport Company (MPK) and another board member were arrested this Wednesday by officers from the Central Anticorruption Office (CBA) and charged with demanding up to PLN 1 mln in bribes. Six CBA officers arrested 42-year-old Krzysztof W. at work, taking his computer and documents away following a six hour search of his office, and leading him downstairs to a car where he was whisked away by masked agents. Meanwhile, in Krakow, 37-year-old Jaroslaw M., who currently represents Lodz City Hall on the board of the city’s MPK, was also taken into custody.
