Acting Justice Minister Krzysztof Kwiatkowski has ordered inspections at offices containing highly sensitive files after it was revealed there was a ‘series of irregularities’ in procedures.

In 2008, investigators Ryszard Radolinski and Grazyna Fijalkiewicz discovered that numerous top secret files could have been leaked from storage, but were promptly fired by then Justice Minister, Zbigniew Cwiakalski, for their efforts.

Missing, misplaced or leaked documents included 400 pages on the Pruszkow mafia and 1,000 pages of documents on General Marek Papala’s murder, as well as files on Rywingate and the gambling affair – all of which could have fallen into the wrong hands.

In many cases offices seemed unaware that the sensitive documents even existed.

The new investigation is set to be completed by March 10th.
