Agnieszka Radwanska missed her chance for glory this week, crashing out of the Australian Open fourth round in a gutless display against Francesca Schiavone.

The number ten seed, and hot favourite, was felled in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. The Krakow-born Pole made amends somewhat by advancing to the semi-final of the doubles with Russian partner Maria Kirilenko, though the pair missed out on the final after being narrowly ousted by Cara Black and Liezel Huber 1-6, 6-1, 3-6. In the men’s, on form Lukasz Kubot lost in the fourth round to Novak Djokovic 1-6, 2-6, 5-7. Kubot’s second week hell was completed when him and partner Oliver Marach were edged out of the doubles quarter finals 6-2, 6-7 ...
