Teen Gets Life for Rape and Murder

A court in Łódź on Dec. 17 sentenced 19-year-old Rafał K. to life in prison for the rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl earlier this year.
“The defendant committed two crimes and deserves the most severe punishment,” Judge Sławomir Wlazło said in passing sentence. “Despite his young age, he already has other crimes on his record and in the court’s opinion should be isolated from society.” The girl’s body was found on May 22 in a park in Krośniewice, some 50 km north of Łódź, where she had arranged to meet Rafał K. the previo ...
