New fingerprint scheme introduced
A priest has installed an electronic reader in his church in the town of Gryfow Slaski for schoolchildren to leave their fingerprints, in order to monitor their attendance at mass.
The scheme involves pupils marking their prints over a three year period. If they attend 200 times, they will be freed from the obligation of having to pass an exam prior to their confirmation.
“The idea is great. We don’t have to stand in line to get a signature in our confirmation notebooks,” said one pupil. ...
