The valuable poem was available for sale on the internet
Police have recovered a unique copy of the 1834 epic poem ‘Pan Tadeusz’ from an internet auction site.
The poem, written by Adam Mickiewicz, had been stolen from a library in Lodz almost 30 years ago and was available online for PLN 10,000.
The seller, known only as ‘white raven’ claims he was trying to sell it on behalf of a colleague, who, in turn, had inherited the book from his grandmother.
