The government plans to lower the age limit for voting in local government elections to 16.

According to Civic Platform’s spokesman Pawel Gras, “The younger generation is maturing rapidly, growing up and possesses a great sense of awareness.”

“If we want to catch up with Europe, our hope is this generation.”
