World cross country skiing champion, Justyna Kowalczyk, claimed her second medal of the tournament, while also managing to do a good job of showing just how not to win friends. Beaten into third by Marit Bjorgen and Anny Haag, the sore loser launched into an astonishing tirade against the Norwegian, accusing her of getting an unfair edge by using asthma medicine. ‘She wouldn’t have won without it,’ sniped the Pole, ‘Marit knows very well she wouldn’t have had much to show without her helpers, neither against me nor the other women’. Last week Kowalczyk was left red faced after claiming the 10km track was too easy for her, only to finish lagging in fifth.
