Poland offered shelter and safety to a number of dangerous Palestinian terrorists during the 1980’s according to ex-interior minister, General Czeslaw Kiszczak.

While an exact list of names has not yet been given, amongst those who sought refuge was terrorist mastermind and founder of the Fatah-Revolutionary Council, Abu Nidal.

The information was revealed in a documentary on TVN which aimed to identify the precise movements of Abu Nidal during his time spent in Poland.

In the programme, Kiszczak - at the time right hand man to Communist leader Wojciech Jaruzelski - stated, “We closed our eyes to the fact that they would come to Poland to rest and for medical attention after attacks and to train for new ones.”

But Poland didn’t stop at hospitality. According to Kiszczak, the Palestinian extremists were also supplied with a huge amount of weaponry.

“It was in Poland’s interest to sell them the largest possible quantity of arms.”

He went on to state that despite being ordered by the US to expel those involved with the arms deals, some terrorists remained in the country up until 1993.

But Jaruzelski, who has made the headlines recently as the government attempted to reduce his state pension, denies all knowledge of such activities. When approached and asked to comment on the claims he simply said he “did not recall such things.”
