Three men have finally been sentenced over the theft
The three Poles who stole the ‘Arbeit Macht Frei’ sign from Auschwitz have been sentenced by the Krakow District Court.Pawel S. and brothers Radoslaw M. and Lukasz M. received prison sentences ranging from 18 months to two and a half years.
In addition, they have been ordered to pay PLN 10,000 for stealing and damaging the sign.
Two other men, believed to have been responsible for establishing contact with Anders Hogstrom, the Swedish former neo-Nazi who wanted the sign, are still awaiting trial.
According to reports, the court wants to delay proceedings until Hogstrom has been extradited to Poland. ...
