Komorowski won by 68 percent to 31.5 percent
Bronislaw Komorowski has been named as Civic Platform’s (PO) candidate for the upcoming presidential elections this autumn.
The Speaker of Parliament came top of the party’s preliminaries this week, beating Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski by 68.1 percent to 31.5 percent.
Commenting on the win, Komorowski thanked his rival for “a good fight carried out honourably”.
“Poland needs a president who will unite society behind our most important tasks and help in the development of the country. Now we have completed the first stage in the fight for such a just president,” he added.
