Clubbers may be at risk from the new drug
Poland’s health minister, Ewa Kopacz, is racking her brains how to curb the booming trade in “sex drugs” freely available on the Polish market amid growing concerns over their safety. In particular, varieties of these sex drugs based on methadone, an ecstasy-like substance, are a cause for concern as they are both powerful and addictive.
Referred to in general slang as ‘dopalacze’ meaning ‘uppers’, these drugs increase the user’s sensual experience and improve performance and stamina. They can be bought over the counter at some sex shops or over the internet for as little as PLN 28 a dose.
