Warsaw prosecutors this week ended their investigation into the alleged defamation of President Lech Kaczyński by Berlin’s fringe leftist paper Die Tageszeitung.

Warsaw prosecutors this week ended their investigation into the alleged defamation of President Lech Kaczyński by Berlin’s fringe leftist paper Die Tageszeitung, which called him a “Polish potato”.
“The investigation was ended due to the lack of evidence to support the charges,” a prosecution spokeswoman told reporters on Monday.
The affair began in March last year, when Die Tageszeitung ran a satirical profile of the Kaczyński twins, in which it criticised their anti-German stance and poked fun ...
