The Polish National Bank survey recorded an increase in its business outlook index

In its first-quarter survey of 1,032 companies, the Polish National Bank found that its business outlook index rose by 2.4 per cent on the previous quarter and by 25 per cent on the same period for 2009.
“Companies observed further improvement in their situation at the beginning of 2010,” the bank said in a summary of the report. “Forecasts for demand and exports are more optimistic. This translates into a lower number of companies planning job cuts and more companies planning new hiring. It hasn’t yet carried over to companies’ investment plans.”
