The city delights have won Krakow many new fans
The recent presidential funeral in Krakow has left many Russians wishing to visit the historic city.
Millions were glued to their sets to watch the burial of Lech and Maria Kaczynski and according to opinion polls, many are now keen to visit as tourists.
“We keep receiving phone calls from people who say that they saw the funeral of the couple in Krakow on TV and they were impressed by the city’s beautiful churches, castles and tenement houses,” says the owner of one travel agency from Kaliningrad.
It also seems that the funeral has helped to make more Russians aware of the atrocities that went on in Katyn.
