Could the body be that of Zielonka? The mystery thickens.
A badly decomposed body fished out of the River Vistula has added to the mystery surrounding the disappearance of a military intelligence officer.
An initial search of the corpse, which was found by a fisherman, revealed documents indicating that the remains belonged to Stefan Zielonka.
A signals officer with access to NATO codes, Zielonka disappeared into thin air in April last year prompting fears of a significant security breach.
“On the remains we found bank documents issued in the name of Stefan Zielonka,” said a Warsaw police spokesman.
