Jaroslaw to run for president

The identical twin of the late President Lech Kaczynski has announced that he will try to emulate his brother and become president of Poland.

Breaking a self-imposed silence since the death of his brother in the Smolensk disaster, Jaroslaw Kaczynski said that he felt it his duty to stand as the Law and Justice (PiS) candidate and to continue the work of the late president.

“Poland is our common, great responsibility. It demands that we overcome personal suffering to take action despite a personal tragedy,” he said in a statement on the party’s website.
