GDP looking good in Poland

Poland’s economy should see reasonable GDP growth this year, according to a welter of up-beat reports that shrugged off the economic chaos caused by Greece’s travails.

Striking a bullish note, Waldemar Pawlak, the economy minister and deputy prime minister, told reporters in Warsaw that he thought GDP growth should hit 3 per cent in 2010.

“When it comes to the whole of 2010, I think that [GDP will grow by] slightly more than three percent,” he said at a press conference.

“We have to take into account that the global situation is fairly shaky - this concerns Europe, the euro-zone, Greece and other countries that are in trouble,” he added.
