Komorowski - remains on track in polls
Acting head of state Bronislaw Komorowski remains on track to win July’s presidential elections although the gap between him and his main rival, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, has narrowed.
Polls still put Mr Komorowski, who is allied to prime minister Donald Tusk’s Civic Platform party well ahead of his opponents. A Millward Brown SMG/KRC survey gave him 45 percent for the first round on July 4 and 55 percent for the run-off vote.
The same poll gave Jaroslaw Kaczynski 30 per cent for the first round, up 3 per cent from an earlier poll, and 34 per cent in the run-off.
Mr Kaczynski also trumpeted the fact that he garnered 1,650,000 signatures backing his decision to run for the presidency.
