Kasperczak - first match lost since return
The race for the Polish league title got closer last weekend, Lech Poznan closing the gap on leaders Wisla to a single point. Wisla lost their first match since the return of coach Henryk Kasperczak, going down 1-0 at home to relegation threatened Korona Kielce. In the ninth minute Jacek Kielb scored from just inside the box, and with Kielce defending high up the pitch throughout the match, Wisla never managed to break through. “Maybe we weren’t focussed enough. We started badly and lost a goal through carelessness, and we paid the price for it,” commented Wisla defender Pablo Alvarez.
